Young Jean Lee returns to The Warhol performing with her new band, Future Wife, in We’re Gonna Die, a cabaret-style evening that premiered to rave reviews in April 2011 at Joe’s Pub in New York City. In her uniquely unnerving, subversive and hilarious style, Lee has created a dark song cycle with an ultimately affirming message about life’s futility. Lee and her experimental theater company have grown rapidly since 2003, and The Warhol is pleased to continue to build the relationship after presenting Songs of the Dragons Flying to Heaven in 2007 and The Shipment in 2010.
“Enormously touching …Lee purchases our hearts with her bravery’s own coin.”
